ANDERSON CHAPTER NEWS

The 2008-2009 Anderson Chapter officers are:

Tricia Ray, CMA (AAMA) President
Melissa Holloway, CMA (AAMA) Vice President
Kristin Barnes, MA Secretary
Linda Hornick, CMA (AAMA) Treasurer
Mary Gambrell, CMA (AAMA) Immediate Past President

We have gotten off to a good start with our education.  We had Sara Drawdy, a prosecutor for Anderson and Oconee counties, speaking to us at our April meeting.  She spoke on elder abuse and child abuse and how and where to report incidences of each.  It was very interesting, and there was much discussion from all attendees.

We had Ashley Pruitt from Hospice of the Upstate speak to us at our May meeting.  She spoke on “Myths of Hospice Care.”  This was really interesting to all that attended.

The June meeting had another good speaker, Amy Graham, a certified addiction counselor from Wellsprings.  She spoke on all types of addiction.

Our July outing is just around the corner, and the theme of the outing is going to be western, so everyone is to come on down in their best western gear.

Good education has already been lined up for the rest of the year, thanks to Kristin Barnes, education chairman for this year for our chapter.  She has really done a good job getting speakers.

We look forward to a great year for our chapter.  Hopefully, we can grow in numbers and have many in attendance at each meeting.

I look forward to seeing you at the meetings.
